Some people says being a graphic designer is too easy, but do you think it is? Well no. Designing anything from scratch is hard especially when you are new to this world of art. Thinking on how would you design a simple logo of a company, banner for advertising and more. Most often, some individuals say that we, as graphic designers have big knowledge and background of using Adobe Products and other platforms. So, let’s elaborate the life of being a graphic designer.
Designing from the scratch is traditional form and other artists are still used to it before they turn to be on what they are now. It is an advantage when you have an experience of using Photoshop or Illustrator. These designing software are mostly designers are using and it is easy for them to use. Some designers are not good at freehand drawing. Instead, they visualize and collaborate their thoughts between designers and their clients. But some of them are good at both freehand and graphic.
Life of being a graphic designer is uneasy. They experience different clients and different characteristics, some of them are approachable, and some of them are not. You’re lucky if your client is helping you out envision their wants and it ended up as good recommendation for the client. Most of the clients follows the suggestion of the designer because they think designer knows best for them. But some clients still following their wants for their logo, the designer and meet their expectations very well.
Many talented, creative people are attracted to jobs as graphic designers especially when a biggest company in the Philippines looking for talented people with creative mind and visualization. Some of them are getting an experience in this industry to enhance their skills and to gain more knowledge in the world of graphics. There are individuals that their dream job is to be graphic designer, but how would it be possible? You can learn it by yourself and do practice.
Creating a logo is simplest way to generate basics. Redesigning a logo can give you an idea to recreate its modern version. This can be your inspiration to do your own version of logo by yourself. If you still don’t have an idea, there is a tutorial video from YouTube on how to create basic logo from Photoshop or Illustrator. It depends on you what is the best software to create. Having a taste in color palette is an edge, sometimes, it depends on the client’s demand for their company. Combining it with font that it fits perfectly on the logo branding.
If you already mastered creating logo, you can proceed to do simple banner. Clients always wanted to design their banner and make it minimal to attract individuals and it is also a marketing strategy with other competitors. Mostly, individuals attracted to the content of the banner (e.g., 3-day sale, up to 50% off) but some are focusing on the design of the banner. The most important thing to create a minimal design is to limit the colors from 2 to 3 color palette and think of the perfect combination of colors.
Most graphic designers are from company based. Why? Most of the biggest companies here in the Philippines has in need of graphic designers and demands big salary and its benefits. The said companies had no choice but to agree the demands of graphic designers. There are some graphic designers likely to be home-based or work from home especially in this period of pandemic.
