Content is the Present - and Future - of Marketing

First impressions matter in a lot of aspects. How someone or something portrays and expresses themselves physically, verbally and in gestures, it is proven to get attention.

Marketing is no exception. What your audience sees would somehow impact how your brand/service will be defined. Think of it as the clothes you wear, it’s not just what they are but most importantly how you present them. Similarly to promoting your brand, you don’t just want to own one and have a catchy name and a website with working functionalities. You may also want to enhance its every possible capabilities - that is where your content will lead you the way.

Content marketing plays a vital role in promoting your business; it affects your profit and status. For example -  and a great example of content marketing is creating blog posts.

Businesses with blogs generate 60% higher leads than their competitions.

Images, videos and other types of media are effective to engage customers and buyers up to 47% after viewing at least 3-5 of the media.

Content generates about 30% higher growth rate compared to those who don’t focus on content marketing.

This may appear a little bit too easy -  just a bunch of media and articles and you’re ready to go, right? But there’s still a lot to consider. And to sound more technical, content marketing undergoes a lot of planning, wireframing and trials.

Examples to be included in consideration are:

Knowing your audience

  •  To generate leads, targeting the right group of people is the very first step. You can’t force people to buy your products if they don’t have interest in it at all in the first place. Identifying their priorities and preferences can make it easier for both the owner and the customer.

Using the right format

  • Using media like images and videos can be a little exciting. It surely will catch your audience’s attention, but the main role of it is to convey the right message and action. If you are going to have content regarding a particular “How-to” topics, articles and videos are more fit for this role.

Know your place

  • Of course, knowing your place will not be a difficult task if you already know your audience. It means you know which platform to use and spread the news. This can also connect to your Social media marketing campaign.

Stay up-to-date

  • Keeping up with the latest trends can be a lifesaver in digital marketing. With the majority of the internet users are probably youngsters, they tend to follow what’s trending as it becomes they’re natural approach into purchasing and reading something online. You catch their attention through your content, congratulations, you just gained a lead. However, this can be a little tricky especially to those who are just starting in the marketing industry. Our own preference and what the world prefers can be parallel to each other. That’s why creativity is the key. Being logical while still being comfortable is now a skill.

But why is content the present and future of marketing? You act for the “Now” but think for what’s best for tomorrow. Contents can depend on what you need now - what your audience needs. But the long term effect can reach the future.
