In the marketing industry, every possible technique that can lead a business to success is adapted. As for digital marketing, Landing Pages is top notch on the list.
Landing Page is a single-page or a standalone web page with a sole purpose to market brands and services and convert web traffic into sales. It is the perfect medium to put CTA or call-to-action methods.
“It’s just a homepage then?”
While it is only a single page, a landing page can be more effective in terms of marketing compared to a homepage. You can easily differentiate landing pages and a homepage just by looking at their display, buttons and/or links included. Landing Page focuses on having as few actions as possible with only the purpose of converting the action into sales.
There are two types and the most common known type of landing page, these are Lead Gen and Clickthrough.
Lead Gen or Lead Generation Landing Page are known for its use of forms. The page gathers data from visitors such as names and email addresses. These are helpful to collect and create a list of prospective customers. Most of these forms are for subscription whereas you can receive news, offers and proposals from the business site. But marketers, especially those who are proficient in email marketing are the ones who get the final move to drive the subscriber into an official customer.
Clickthrough Landing Page use buttons as their call to action in order to get customers. Simple buttons such as “Order Now”, “Shop Now”, “Book Now, etc. are proven to drive visitors to make a transaction. It will redirect visitors to a shop or any checkout page of the site.
Despite having minimal display and just a single page, landing pages can be a crucial strategy for digital marketers and online business owners alike.
What is so important about landing pages and how should I know when to create one?
Like mentioned before, Landing Page’s purpose is to market online businesses. It acts as the advertising campaign that drives visitors into customers and increases the conversion rate while lowering the cost of you availing a lead.
Having a website or web app is enough, and could do the job as well. But having its main purpose is what makes it do the job even better. Creating leads are vital for businesses especially with the massive number of competitors online. Having Landing Pages doesn’t necessarily depend on how big your business is or how many active customers a business has, as it could also be a preparatory page for getting batches of customers and a strategic plan so you don’t have to spend a lot of money on buying services to increase your sales.
However, landing pages don’t just pop up out of nowhere. Platforms like emails, social media, search engines and other similar places online are where landing pages can be clicked on. Promotions on social media, for example, when clicked are redirected on a landing page.
Developers and designers of landing pages are also everywhere, and so, if you are planning and want to try landing pages for your business, I am sure lots of business owners and marketers will agree. Landing Pages are unsung heroes of advertising campaigns.
