A bootstrap is a program that initializes the operating system (OS) during startup. The term bootstrap or bootstrapping originated within the early 1950s. It mentioned a bootstrap load button that was wont to initiate a hardwired bootstrap program, or smaller program that executed a bigger program like the OS. The term was said to be derived from the expression “pulling yourself up by your own bootstraps,” starting small and loading programs one at a time while each program is “laced” or connected to a subsequent program to be executed in sequence.
HOW TO USE BOOTSTRAP
Bootstrap has four categories of design features: scaffolding, components, JavaScript plugins, and base CSS. The scaffolding (or global styles) is made on responsive 12-column grids, layouts, and components. The components include basic styles for common interface features. JavaScript plugins follow components but use JavaScript not styles for elements. The bottom CSS includes styles for basic HTML elements, and it includes a group of icons called Glyphicons.
The documentation provides great instructions for using Bootstrap. an honest section of it describes the fundamentals of Bootstrap-enabling an internet page. The subsequent code provides an example of those basics. The most points are the HTML5 doctype, the viewport meta element, the bootstrap.min.css stylesheet, and therefore the two JavaScript files referenced at rock bottom of the page.
One feature of Bootstrap that I even have enjoyed with a current project is the column layout with the fluid example providing a visible representation of the layout. I used similar elements with YAML, but I find Bootstrap more straightforward and has more features.
An interesting option with Bootstrap is the ability to roll your own and download the result -- this is often available by way of the Customize page. It allows you to settle on components and jQuery plugins, also as specified variables. together with your choices complete, you'll download the leads to a compressed zip file. The file contains the Bootstrap standard directories: css, img, and js, with the required files in each.
