Clicks VS Impressions Paid Advertising

How do you think companies and brands profit from posting their advertisements? And what are the ways and platforms used to achieve this? We will get into that, but first we need to know what is Paid Digital Advertising?

Paid Advertising is basically a company paying  another company or platform to post their product and services. It is mostly done visually. I’m pretty sure we are familiar with the traditional paid advertisements like billboards. If you own the land or building, the materials used, you printed out the whole billboard and you put it up yourself on that high and gigantic platform, then sure, it is not paid advertising. But in most cases and we know it, it rarely goes like that. You need to pay for everything just to make your product be seen by everyone. You make sure it is visible and attracts viewers to become consumers.

Now, Paid Digital Advertising doesn’t really differentiate that far from the traditional. There is now actually a Digital Billboard that can be seen on the streets of big cities. And that goes in the category of Impressions.

Clicks VS Impressions, what are the differences between these two?

Clicks - are leads that came from audiences that took action by clicking the advertisement and redirecting them to the actual store/website or the owner’s account. It is a very effective way to convert them into customers. These advertisements can mostly be seen on social media and other platforms like blog posts. This is also called Pay-Per-Click (PPC) or Cost-Per-Click (CPC). The price will depend on the engagement of the advertisement - how many clicks it received. In regards to this, you don’t want to throw money on something not guaranteed. You should know what is the most used platform and effective for your certain target.

Impressions - it focuses on the visual engagement of the advertisement. Even if the audience doesn’t take action, it doesn’t directly affect the cost. As long as it serves a huge number and group of people, the purpose is served. However, being able to present the advertisement successfully by conveying the right message and strategy will be the crucial part. Best examples of this are billboards, posters, magazines and even commercials.

The difference is obvious that it circles around how the audience will take action, but the purpose is basically the same, to engage audiences.
